AWS Class E310-16 electrodes are chromium-nickel welding rods consisting of about 25-28% chromium, 20-25% nickel, with trace elements being manganese, silicon, and carbon. They therefore ensure excellent weldability and excellent corrosion resistance. They have high tensile strength (~550 MPa) and good ductility and provide excellent resistance to thermal shock and scaling at high temperatures up to 1200°C. These electrodes exhibit excellent resistance against corrosion and oxidation, which makes them perfect for welding similar stainless steel grades and dissimilar metal joints in harsh industrial environments.
