Stainless Steel 304L flanges are made of a low-carbon version of 304 steel. It exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly in chemical and marine environments. Composed of 18-20% chromium and 8-12% nickel, the small amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon (0.03% max) make it a material with good formability and weldability but with high strength. 304L has the following mechanical properties: tensile strength of 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40% in 50 mm. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and excellent durability under both high and low temperatures.
