Stainless Steel 405 Pipes contain mostly iron, along with chromium ranging from 12 to 14% and nickel between 1 and 2%. It further contains carbon, manganese, silicon, and sulfur, which are relatively in low amount. The whole composition of this material gives outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Its mechanical property is 485 MPa tensile strength, 205 MPa of yield strength at 40 % elongation and good weld ability with good oxidation resistance at an elevated temperature. Stainless steel 405 could be used very well in corrosion-resistant applications coupled with moderate mechanical strength, or in heat exchangers in furnace components.
