Stainless Steel XM19, also known as Nitronic 50, is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy composed of iron, chromium (14-16%), nickel (7-9%), manganese (7-9%) and small amounts of silicon, sulfur and carbon. Its mechanical properties include excellent tensile strength (up to 105 ksi), high yield strength, and good resistance to oxidation and wear. Advantages include superior corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and acidic environments, high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and the ability to withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for demanding applications.
